Dell and Targus Join Together to Promote Environmental Preservation

As a Founding Partner of Dell's "Plant a Forest for Me" Program, Targus Is Furthering Its Commitment to the Environment

Anaheim, Calif. – November 5, 2007 - Targus® Inc., maker of the world's top-selling laptop computer cases and accessories, today announced it is partnering with Dell Inc. through the company's "Plant a Forest for Me" program. The Dell program enables organizations worldwide to share best practices and, as partners, offset the carbon impact of the electricity required to power computer equipment by planting trees in sustainably managed reforestation projects.

"Targus believes all manufacturers have a responsibility to participate in the global effort to preserve our environment and natural resources. We are proud to be a founding partner of Dell's "Plant a Forest for Me" program," stated Al Giazzon, vice president of marketing & communications at Targus. "Targus developed its line of Grove laptop cases as part of our global green initiative and we are pleased to work with Dell in an effort to better our planet now and for generations to come."

"Protecting our climate is one of the most important and difficult challenges we face today," said Tod Arbogast, director of Sustainable Business at Dell Inc. "We commend Targus for playing a vital role in building a worldwide community of partners dedicated to a cleaner environment. Our shared earth deserves no less."

Targus' new Grove laptop cases were announced last month as a part of its company-wide EcoSmart program, which is designed to promote a corporate culture of environmental responsibility. The initiative incorporates key aspect of the company's operations, from implementing a recycling program and utilizing energy efficient light bulbs, to taking a more eco-friendly approach to product packaging, such as using recycled and recyclable materials.

The EcoSmart Grove laptop cases include recyclable plastics and nickel-free hardware and are made of PVC-free material, which makes the production of the cases less harmful to the ecosystem. The bags fit all laptop computers up to 15.4" and come in four attractive styles: Sling ($59.99), Messenger ($49.99), Convertible Messenger/Backpack ($79.99) and a Top Loading case ($59.99).

Dell launched the "Plant a Forest for Me" program in September 2007 to enable organizations of any size or location to join with the company to protect our environment. Dell partners with The Conservation Fund and Carbonfund.org, non-profit organizations that plant trees in sustainable managed reforestation projects. Other partners include ABN AMRO, AMD, Ask.com, Salesforce.com, Staples and WellPoint. For more information on Dell's "Plant a Forest for Me" program, please visit www.dell.com/plantaforest.
