Position Summary
|
Our Marketing Manager for Soft Goods products implements tactical marketing programs which aggressively drive business growth. Develops and executes through management of internal and selected external resources, all elements related to product marketing to include pricing, distribution, consumer and trade communication / promotions, merchandising and packaging for new and existing product lines.

Principle Roles and Responsibilities
|
- Develop with Marketing Team and Sales input, the annual marketing plan and budget for assigned product line(s) which meets annual company business plan objectives.
- Develop and direct annual marketing communications objectives and budgets which include advertising, public relations, promotion objectives, collateral materials and other communication or sales support elements.
- Develop and execute new product launch plan to include pricing, volume forecasts, distribution rollout plan, trade programs, advertising, PR, packaging and promotional plan objectives.
- Support account teams in continuous planning efforts and analysis by providing regular updates to account planning documents, monitoring planogram updates and unit performance. Work closely with sales managers to prepare for effective product proposals, line reviews and planogram modifications to ensure solid sell through and profitability of Targus SKUs.
- Execute development of line extensions of existing products.
- Develop compelling Brand and Product selling stories for use in sales presentations.
- Work effectively with the Sales force to develop and execute marketing programs that meet the needs of our Trade customers and end consumers, and which provide acceptable return on investment.
- Effectively manage Soft Goods product lifecycles from launch to end-of-life.

Experience
|
- Demonstrable experience in Product Marketing including product portfolio management and new product launch.
- Five to Eight years experience in similar positions, experience in marketing for a $100MM+ size company in a consumer / professional products industry preferred.
- BA degree in Marketing or a related field.
- Strong marketing skills with respect to product introduction, marketing research, market analysis, packaging development, financial analysis as well as a basic understanding of operations, technical, regulatory and sales environments.
- Ability to apply creative "outside the box" thinking to produce innovative approaches to marketing strategies and their tactical implementation.
- Proficient computer skills, MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Position will require approximately 20% travel.
