General Summary

Targus pioneered the notebook computer carrying case in 1983 and today is the leading global provider of mobile computing solutions. Through offices in more than 30 geographies and sales in more than 150 countries, the Company designs and markets a broad range of notebook carrying cases and accessories for today's mobile computing user.

Targus is seeking a Forecast/Sales Analyst to generate a rolling 12-month demand forecast for the Sales and Operations department. The candidate will maintain and improve the forecasting process, monitor performance, and identify and recommend action plans that insure that forecast accuracy, inventory targets, and customer service requirements are achieved.

Principle Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Interface with customers, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning to obtain the necessary information for the forecasting process.
  2. Prepare data for the generation of the baseline forecast by Major Account and Item and combine with the qualitative data from Sales to develop an enriched forecast. Manage the timely arrival of inputs for the forecast cycle.
  3. Maintain the forecasting database along with all inputs such as POS, forecast assumptions, customer and market trends, promotions, Planograms changes, etc. Define information systems requirements and participate in software solution evaluation.
  4. Coordinate with Supply Planning to review supply demand gaps and determine course of actions to bridge gaps. Communicate gaps and action plans to Sales and Marketing teams Communicate significant forecast changes to Supply Planning.
  5. Prepare demand metrics (KPI's) to measure demand planning process effectiveness.
  6. Generate and prepare monthly SOP reports.
  7. Perform reporting and analysis as required to support business needs.
Job Specifications
Knowledge
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management or equivalent.
  • 3+ years experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Solid understanding of forecasting and supply chain concepts
  • Expert Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills.
